BLUE NOSE BREWERY
Hodkins, IL
Cool Hair – Raspberry Sour

When fruit beer starts to get released, you know we’re getting closer to summer.  Well, that’s what I’m telling myself.  Blue Nose Brewery is going “pink” on March 8 with their raspberry sour.  Check out the color on that brew!

BLACK HORIZON BREWING COMPANY
Willowbrook, IL
Blood Moon Prohecy – Red Ale
Winter Wheat – Wheated Dark Ale
Fool Me Once “Strawberry” – DDH Pale Ale w/ strawberry

Black Horizon is dropping 3 like Steph Curry on Thursday.  Blood Moon Prohecy is a full bodied red ale, rich in caramel malts, bready undertones and cereal grain elements.  Winter Wheat brings a creamy but milk wheated dark ale to the table, with a nose of roasted malts, deep dark hued body and a soft finish.  Fool Me Once Strawberry is their famous Double Dry Hopped Pale Ale that retains its mild bitterness, but subtly fruited with strawberry.

METAL MONKEY BREWING
Romeoville, IL
The Ellis Redding – Irish Red

Who’s Ellis Redding?  The character played by Morgan Freeman in The Shawshank Redemption.  This beer from the Romeoville-based brewery is a traditional Irish Red with a strong malt backbone that is balanced out with a slight sweetness.

WERK FORCE BREWING
Plainfield, IL
Sleepy Bear Cask Conditioned Pin with Cacao Nibs & Ten Drops Coffee – Russian Imperial Stout

There have been a lot of great releases of Sleep Bear and its various variants (say that ten times fast) over the past few years, and this one looks to be right up there with the best.  With the cacao and coffee, maybe the bear won’t be sleepy.  (Bad joke, thank you, I’ll be here all week)
