Ottawa’s Tangled Roots Brewing Company is taking their flagship Devil’s Paint Box and prepping it for summer with a Blood Orange variant.

The original base beer is an American IPA, featuring Cascade and Citrus hops.  This new variant involves blood orange puree, which will amplify the citrus flavors from those hops.

Wonder where the name Devil’s Paint Box came from?  It’s actually a shoutout to the Devil’s Paint Box in nearby Matthiessen State Park.  In this section of the park, iron-rich water seeps from the sandstone to produce bright orange mud suitable for the Devil to paint with.

And, this new blood orange variant is an even more orange brew!
