Hickory Creek will be the Hottest Place to be on Their 2nd Anniversary

Not only will they the New Lenox be celebrating their 2nd this upcoming weekend (June 26-28), but they’ll be tapping “Mango Hot Cha Cha!”  It’s a summer lager with mango and serrano peppers.  Smooth, malty, and well balanced, it’ll have a fruit-forward flavor and finish off with nice pepper notes.

Don’t miss Jack Byron, who will be playing at 6:30pm as well!

7th Evil Ex Returns to Skeleton Key Brewery

Now, this isn’t the name of a Miranda Lambert song.  7th Evil Ex is a Schwarzbier by Skeleton Key Brewery.  This beer made the list from porchdrinking.com as one of “Our Favorite Chicago and Midwestern Beers,” with heavy praise from author Mathew Powers.

And on Friday, it’ll be available on draft as well as for the first time ever in cans.

A Little Braggadocious at Mad Hatchet

I learned with a braggot was today.  Mad Hatchet released one today called “Nightshade.”  A braggot is a style of mead that uses barley malt & honey.  It’s a collab with Unpossible Mead that has grape and blueberry notes.  Get a bottle today!

The Mimic is Back!

Bourbon-saturated wood returns its favor, dispersing huge amounts of toast, char and warming ethanol into this 11% behemoth. Sporting the usual fat and silky mouthfeel patent to our imperial stout line, Miskatonic goes one step farther and conditioned this beer on over 20lbs of oven-toasted coconut per barrel. Exceptionally small-batch, get it while it’s available!

Da Bomb

Black Horizon’s Sugar Bomb is back in cans.  This is their main Milkshake IPA, and definiately worth the pickup.  Horizon Pale Ale is on draft, which is an old school APA with Citra and Mosaic hops.  Bready malts and piney bitterness

A Miskatonic – SKB Team Up

We’re a few weeks away from the tasty results of a socially distance flash collaboration.  Miskatonic and Skeleton Key Brewery are teaming up for a summery wheat ale.  It’s going to have a hit of fruit and floral from the organic rose hips being used in the boil.  And, cold-steeped Meyer lemon peel is going to bring some citrus to the party as well.

A Cream Ale from Flapjack

Now, I’m thinking this is Fantasmo, but haven’t confirmed.  Hope it is, its a great beer.

Check out these new cans from Garage Band

Nor’easter is Garage Band’s NEIPA, which will be coming soon in these awesome cans.  The beer is a hazy fruit bomb with El Dorado, Ekuanot, Mosaic, and Citra hops.

Black is Beautiful, Skeleton Key Brewery

Skeleton Key started their Black is Beautiful collab with Liquid Love Brewing this week, and it’s going to be a mixed 4-pack.  Half will be Liquid Love Brewing’s cacao nibs and Smugglers Coffee.  The other half will be a sweet plantain and toasted coconut variant.  Proceeds to benefit My Block, My Hood, My City.  Details posted when we know more!
