Alter Brewing Company just brought in the second beer from their second location our of fermenter two, which weighs in a 2.2%. It’s Super Two, and its available at two Alter locations! (Downers Grove and St. Charles). It’s a Belgian table beer thats a little bready with slight malt sweetness.
Gled Tae Meet Ye, My Name is Oatmeal Stout
Miskatonic released its delectable Oatmeal Stout, which is available on draft and to-go. A definite thumbs up.

Three from Ike & Oak Brewing Co.
The Woodridge, IL-based brewery is truly embracing summer with its massive outdoor seating area and THREE new summer beers.
1. Lazy Riser (Fruited Sour w/Cape Gooseberry) Tart, hazy, and fruity flavor with a cloudy light orange color. 4.6% ABV
2. Sandy Beach Shandy (Shandy/ Radler) Refreshingly light and fruity, with a slight sweetness and bold flavors of blood orange and grapefruit. 3.3% ABV.
3. High Line Trail (Munich – Style Helles Lager) Light colored with a touch of sweetness, balanced with a noble hop flavor and low bitterness. 4.8% ABV.

13 Must Be Lucky, Because Horizon IPA Vol. 13 is Back!
Horizon IPA Vol. 13 is back at Black Horizon Brewing Company in can form, but just for a limited time. It’s a Citra DIPA (Double IPA) weighing in at 8.8% ABV. Ultra-fresh citra hops, big tropical waves of fruit and pine with a crisp, hoppy finish.
Watch out for BHBC’s “Mango Sugar Bomb” this Thursday – Sunday as well (while supplies last).

Wednesday Drop at Orange & Brew
The Downers Grove craft beer headquarters has two in today. Foreign Exchange Brewing Co.’s Narangi Sunrise is a milkshake IPA with tangerine, vanilla, and lactose. Maplewood Brewery dropped Tiger Mountain, a Helles brewed with high quality German heritage malt and a blend of Hersbrucker & Saphir hops.
Scratch is Back With a Brand New Invention
Skeleton Key Brewery welcomes back Scratch Brewing Company, who is hosting a patio-only guest tap! At first, I have to be honest, I thought I read the word “filet” … keep in mind, the one thing I like better than beer is steak. (Could a Steak Trail site be in the works? Hahaha … I wish).
Scratch’s File Farmhouse Ale is a citrusy blonde farmhouse ale brewed with hand-harvested sassafras leaves. Head on over to SKB to get yours today!

Oh, the islands have made it to Ottawa, IL. Tangled Roots Brewing Company has a new one out today that makes me wish I was outside in the hot summer sun. Trans Pacific Express is a sessionable IPA with pineapple and coconut. Available in draft and in six-pack.
Balloon Head, It’s Better Than The Rest
Metal Monkey dropped 4 versions of Balloon Head, which is available in mixed 4-packs. Cherry, Blue Raspberry, Watermelon, and Mystery. They are Berliner Weisses inspired by a famous candy with a balloon head on the front – and yes, they did have a mystery flavor!!!
And, is Weisses. the plural of Weisse?

Hickory Creek will be the Hottest Place to be on Their 2nd Anniversary
Not only will they the New Lenox be celebrating their 2nd this upcoming weekend (June 26-28), but they’ll be tapping “Mango Hot Cha Cha!” It’s a summer lager with mango and serrano peppers. Smooth, malty, and well balanced, it’ll have a fruit-forward flavor and finish off with nice pepper notes.
Don’t miss Jack Byron, who will be playing at 6:30pm as well!
7th Evil Ex Returns to Skeleton Key Brewery
Now, this isn’t the name of a Miranda Lambert song. 7th Evil Ex is a Schwarzbier by Skeleton Key Brewery. This beer made the list from porchdrinking.com as one of “Our Favorite Chicago and Midwestern Beers,” with heavy praise from author Mathew Powers.
And on Friday, it’ll be available on draft as well as for the first time ever in cans.
A Miskatonic – SKB Team Up
We’re a few weeks away from the tasty results of a socially distance flash collaboration. Miskatonic and Skeleton Key Brewery are teaming up for a summery wheat ale. It’s going to have a hit of fruit and floral from the organic rose hips being used in the boil. And, cold-steeped Meyer lemon peel is going to bring some citrus to the party as well.

Skeleton Key started their Black is Beautiful collab with Liquid Love Brewing this week, and it’s going to be a mixed 4-pack. Half will be Liquid Love Brewing’s cacao nibs and Smugglers Coffee. The other half will be a sweet plantain and toasted coconut variant. Proceeds to benefit My Block, My Hood, My City. Details posted when we know more!
