Pollyanna Brewing Teams Up With Revolution

Get our your leis and alpine hats, it’s time for “Lederhosen Luau!”  That’s the name of the collaboration between Pollyanna Brewing Company and Revolution Brewing Company.  They’ve got a 6.0% Hopfenweisse loaded with hops (Sabro, Citra and Mosaic), as well as Hefeweizen yeast, German wheat, and malts (Vienna, Pils, and Munich).  Tropical fruit, citrus, coconut, banana, and a silky smooth body.  This is what Oktoberfest would taste like in Honolulu, and I can’t wait to try it!

Even More Hops

Miskatonic’s Epilogue Imperial IPA is an oldie from Miskatonic, but it’s been touched up a bit.  From the brewery’s description:

The same brash, lightly biscuity body from the original meets even more hopping than previous iterations. Be on the lookout for the characteristic citrusy, grassy, perfumey orange aroma hit followed with a stinger of classic west coast bitterness and crisp, dry finish.

Finish It!  at Skeleton Key Brewing

Finishing Move is one of two new ones at Skelton Key Brewing.  This one is a 5.5% American Porter, giving tastes that are a little roasty, combining a little chocolate with a little coffee.

Nora’s Grace is a 7% IPA hopped with Azacca and Belma.  Juicy and tropical!  The beer is named for the Slayton’s youngest brother’s first baby.  $1 of every pint sold in June will be donated to the National Organization for Disorders of the Corpus Callosum.

Grab a Can of Blind Squirrel

Hickory Creek’s Blind Squirrel Brown Ale (with black walnuts) is now available for take-home 4-acks.  It’s a tap room favorite, weighing in at 6.1% ABV and 28 ibu.

A Well-Deserved F.U.S.S. about Peach Meat

Will County has brought back two favorites on the tap this week.  Peach Meat and F.U.S.S.

Peach Meat Wheat – with over 150lbs of Peach Purée and Madagascar Vanilla, it’s the smoothest way to kick off your spring….

F.U.S.S. Hazy IPA – dry hopped w/Mosaic, Denali, and Idaho 7 for pine and grapefruit notes with a smooth finish.

A Special Guest at Will County Brewing

Brickstone Brewery’s Galactic Space Haze is on tap at Will County Brewing Company.  It’s a Hazy IPA that was Double Dry Hopped with Galaxy and Amarillo hops.  Extra juicy, with citrus and passion fruit.  Don’t believe me?  It’s what it says on the graphic!!  High ratings on UnTappd as well.

Beer Slushies and Two New Beers from Black Horizon

Make sure to get your hands on a beer slushie, first and foremost!  Perfect for the warm weather.  New at Black Horizon is Dune Shaper, a blueberry golden ale.  The blueberry is a welcome addition to an already taste golden ale.  Also back is Horizon IPA, this time as version 13.  Some of the freshest Citra hops were used on this double IPA, giving tropical, melon, and other fruity notes with a balanced hoppy bitterness.

West Park IPA in 4 Packs at Elder Brewing Co.

Named after one of the best frisbee golf courses in the area (hence the can design), West Park IPA is great tasting beer.  Light, little bit of citrus, and definately an easy drinker.  If you’re not drinking on the patio, make sure to take home a 4-pack for the weekend!  (Or, do both!)

The Gnome Gnows Some Awesome Can Designs

Garage Band’s “Gnome Gnows” is a great German-style Kolsch.  Little bit of fruit taste, its a beer that not only taste good on tap – but in their brand new cans as well!  Make sure to get some today!

The Right Kind of Quarantine, Plus Two More from Mad Hatchet

Mad Hatchet has three beers to talk about, available starting on Thursday, 6/11.  Island Quarantine is available in bottles.  Aged with toasted coconut, Ghana cacao nibs and almond.  AMAZING.  Also, Ninja Slice (a blood orange specialty IPA) and Summer Camp Shanty (an American summer-wheat with lemon and honey).  Great beers, and now you can sit on their patio!

815, An American Pale Ale

Sounds like a movie.  It’s an epic for sure, but in beer form.  It’s a truly American pale ale, one to enjoy in this great weather.  Get your today at River Hawk Brewing, and enjoy it cold outside!

Player 8,195 Has Entered Whiskey Hill Brewing Company

A keg of Player 8,195 Has Entered The Game from Foreign Exchange Brewing Co. has hit Whiskey Hill.  This is a DDH Sour IPA fruited with raspberry and dragonfruit.  A great guest tap, giving all the reason to visit Whiskey Hill’s outdoor patio.

I Know This Isn’t Beer, But …

You’ve got to get your hands on MyGrain’s Short Rib Poutine.  I can’t even describe it … except AMAZING.

Friday, June 12

Today is Giving Off Vibes of Coconut

That’s because Tangled Roots Brewing Company is bringing us a Berliner Weiss called Coconut Vibes.  It’s a sour beer that’s so tart and refreshing, you will want a second glass!  Especially if you’re enjoying it on their patio.

A Passion for Miskatonic

Make your way out to Darien to try Miskatonic’s Passionfruit Long Tongue Liar.  Over 400 lbs of passionfruit was used during the secondary fermation of this variant.  Light, acidic, and as food-friendly as it gets … make sure to get out there when a food truck is on site to truly enjoy the experience.

Coffin Fog Rolling Out of Black Horizon

We mentioned Dune Shaper in the Thursday BHBC mention, which we have a photo of here.  Also, Black Horizon rolled out Coffin Fog.  It’s a Double Dry Hopped Hazy IPA with Sabro and Cashmere hops.  Great beers for the weekend!!!

Pizza and a Beer at Flapjack

Check out this picture!  It’s the newly released Haig the Bitter Crystal-hopped edition.  Next to it is a Crowler & Meatball Pie with sliced meatballs, San Marzano tomato sauce, parmesan, provolone, caramelized onions, giardiniera, and fresh basil.

If you’re like me, you’ve got the “Stay-at-home” hair going and need to get a hair cut as soon as possible.  (Shoutout to Sports Clips Romeoville).  You want to have cool hair.  You also want to get to Blue Nose for when they release their batch of Cool Hair.  This Raspberry Sour took home the 2019 Golden Growler for Best Beer.
