Hi everyone! We’re trying something a little bit different to update everyone about the beer releases that have come in the past week, and those we know that are coming. As we see things come over, we’ll continue to update this page. In essence, instead of several posts, we’re going to try and summarize it into one page.
Wednesday, February 20 Releases

TAKE ME DOWN TO THE LULUPIN CITY
Yes, I’ve used the Guns & Roses reference before on MyGrain Brewing’s tasty beers … but Paradise City is a classic, as well as Lulupin City. On Wednesday, they released the Tangerine variant of their Milkshake IPA. Get down there and taste it, and order a pretzel too!

ALTER BREWING BRINGS US PARADISE
You no longer have to wait for Paradise, as Alter Brewing has brought us a new beer. Paradise Waiting is a witbier brewed with Belgian yeast. (You may have heard a witbier referred to as a Belgian White.) You’ll get oranges, with a little bit of spice and sweetness with this one.
TWO FROM MAD HATCHET
The Shorewood-based brewery keeps producing, and we keep drinking! They dropped two on Thursday, Feb 20.
- B Block | Cell 133 (a Vienna Lager at 5.4%)
- Not Antoehr IPA (galaxy, amarilla, crystal and citra hops, 8.2% ABV)
*** NEW TAPPING ***
Get on in to Garage Band Brewing and try our new German Style Kolsch! This beer is amazing!…
GARAGE BAND BRINGS OUT THE BUBBLES
Garage Band tapped into a new German Style Kolsch. Sparkling, crisp and refreshing. For those unfamiliar, a Kolsch is like a happy marriage between a ale and a lager. We love the video that they put out on a Facbeook, could watch the bubbles all day.
SKELETON KEY IS GETTING WITTY AS WELL
SKB has brought back Saudade, one of their legendary beers. This is a Belgian-style Wit as well, brewed with sage, chrysanthemum, and bitter orange. Clocks in at 5.3% ABV, bringing floral and citrus notes, along with a “herbaceous” touch.

A COLLAB AND ODE TO THE FALLEN STAR TREK NO-NAMERS
In the beer world, a Red Shirt is a tasty English-style Pale Ale (also known as a ESB – “extra special bitter”). Miskatonic paired up with Few Spirits Distillery to age the brew in Rye Barrels. In the Star Trek World, the Red Shirts are typically the first ones killed (hence the above artwork). But, the Nerdist web site actually did some research on which Star Trek characters were most likely to die.
BLOOD MOON IN THE BLACK HORIZON
Willowbrook-based Black Horizon Brewing Company is releasing a seasonal hit, Blood Moon Prophecy, at 3pm today. This red ale has a large base of Red X malt, combined with specialty German grains. You’re going to get notes of cereal grain, mild caramel, and floral hops. Sit back with this one and enjoy it all day long.

The Wilmington-based brewery dropped Feierabend Marzen today. Those unfamiliar with Marzen beers, check out this article from AmericanCraftBeer.com. This beer has a soft sweetness to it, a little bit toasty, and slight bit spicy.
