It’s time to get all technical, and today, we’re going to look at the human back.  My wife is a nurse, which means I’m qualified to explain anything medical.  OK, maybe I’m good at Google as well.  (She’d just laugh at me if I asked her a random anatomy question and say it has to do with beer).

Flapjack Brewery released “Spine Knob”, a Black IPA.  So, besides being the name of a beer, what is a spine knob?

Well, rub your fingers up and down your back.  You are feeling knobs coming from the vertebra, also known as spinous processes.  Each vetebra also has two knobs, one going left and one going right.  Those are called transverse processes.  What do these knobs do?  They are places for muscles and ligaments to attach.

OK, so here’s what we know about the beer.  Since I’m on Baby Watch … my beer drinking is very limited, so I haven’t been able to get out as much.  This one is a light body beer, mildly hoppy with a touch of citrus and pine.
