The crew over at Alter Brewing Company is taking us on a journey interstellar journey to, as they call it, “the barrel aged cosmos.”

Our first stop is Cherry Hypergiant.  They combined their rye wine with their imperial stout and aged the brew in Buffalo Trace barrels.  Not only that, they added re-fermented cherries in that brew before it went into the barrel.  The result …

This hit the public yesterday (Thursday, November 21).  It packs a 11.0% ABV as well.
